I cuaght a glimpse of you Roger, I went around the park several times and never did find you, but you where right ALOT of cars, they had 1900+ preregistered I heard. I am guessing you left before my trips around as my buddy with the '62 vette had his alternator go out on the way over, I saw him driving without headlights before sunrise and wondered what happened. Its a iceberg style GM 1 wire, he went and purchased a new one at the vendor tent and it didn't fit so I called a buddy 60 miles away and had him text me a pic of his motor I put in years ago in a '57 Chevy, I saw he had the same alternator and had it relayed over after he took it off. The one that went out was brand new Powermaster and I suspect it has a brush stuck.
To make a long story short after that (and we wanted to leave before we needed headlights) I lost my keys and walked the grounds trying to find them, my daughter insisted I left them with Eddie Munster (Butch Patrick) who was there selling autographs (had to purchase) but Eddie hadn't seen them, after a bunch of praying I had the kids dig in the dumpster we threw our trash in and they where there, got caught up in line for a hour before heading home. Gotta say great weekednd thoough, and Eddie Munster was a class act and so nice to my kids! After all the fiasco's I never hardly got a picture taken! I look forward to next years, we arrived before 7:00 am and the front row was pretty much taken since there was a bunch of mud from rain previously, I asked a buddy who got a prime spot and he said he was there at 5 am and wasn't near first as the guy next to him was 4:30 and there where already some there, so the question is how early is early!!
