Advance auto parts (actually I think it's 3-3/4'') fits the peep mirror perfect. Best $3 I ever spent.

Jim, sorry to hear of the issues but like you said, it could be worse. Nice to see you back on here too. Hopefully the car quits nit picking you. Oh, wait, they never do even if you sell them.
Funny you should say sell them Ryan. One should be careful what one asks for. For fun I listed my car for sale. I talked to a guy from Maine (about 6 hours away) and I happened to mention my wife's car. I told him my price, sent some pictures, and apparently he is headed this way with cash and a trailer. He like both my car and the wife's so it looks like one of them at least is going. Looks like I better get going on that 34 sedan. Not thrilled but money is money...Sigh!
How's momma going to like her car leaving? Will you be sleeping in the 34 sedan?
Well, sad day here. I decided to put my 34 Chevy up for sale just for the fun of it. Even more stupid on my part was that I mentioned that I had a 32 3 window. Long story short, this guy wasn't a tire kicker. He drove 5 hours with his girlfriend and their four dogs to come see it. I told him my price he said no problem and as we walked out of the garage a slider pulled up and we counted out some cash. It happened so fast I was still in a daze as it drove away. So with that we close the door on the wife's time saver coupe.

So will we hear from you anymore now?
I hope you find a replacement that you love even more. From what I'm reading, there is a lot to choose from.
I think we may have found a replacement but it still doesn't have a back seat.Attachment 67927
Beutiful car, tell us more about it !
https://www.facebook.com/jim.pelosi....0096938060602/ Not sure if that will work.
It didn't.
Well not for me anyway.
Money hasn't exchanged hands yet but we shook on it and they gave me the envelope full of receipts. What I know so far by the owners son (owner passed away) is that it's a superior glass works 34X31 (34 chevy standard on a 31 chevy frame) registered as a 1933 chevy (trying to get the 33CHEVY plates), corvette LT1 700R4 9" posi full leather interior, classic gauges, tilt A/C heat manual brakes and steering 4 wheel disk brakes. Ugly ass tail lights and a small fuel cell in the trunk that I'm not fond of but it sounds real nice. Again here we go with smooth doors and door shots (those pins that transfer power only when the door is closed) power windows too. It has hood sides too. No wiper and no radio. Wheels 17" front 18" rears. Drives real smooth and straight but does have a little vibration (Pretty sure its in the driveshaft probably universals). Some stone chips but overall not too bad. Damn things got some scoot to it I'll tell ya!!
That looks like a very nice car Jim!
Very nice and not much to do but enjoy

Worth? Now there's an arguable concept that carries so many variables! The key is not what are guys asking for a car like this, but what are guys actually getting for any given car when the time comes that they simply can't, or don't want to hold on to it any longer. Anybody that tells you what it's worth, turn back to him and ask if he'll give that for it and see how quick the back pedaling starts. Just like this one, the guy that had it passed on, and now his wife & son are trying to turn the car into cash. I'd say Uncle Bob said it really well in his comment on your Timesaver Coupe thread....

I would say DA34GUY is the one to ask.
Jim,
I'd be asking myself, "If this car is worth more than I'm paying, why hasn't the seller found those buyer's? What do I know about the market that the seller doesn't seem to know?"
Flipping cars for profit is a lot of fun, but there's a lot of potential for losing money, or having your money tied up longer than you want, especially if you're honest.
Sign up to Mecum auctions, and take a look at past recent auctions in your area and it should give you a good idea (much better than Barrett Jackson) then if that sounds good to you, you can always put it in one of their auctions. My guess is whatever you have in a pile of parts is about what you can get for it, nix the labor. good luck
The guys selling it have no clue. It was their fathers car, They are NOT car guys AT ALL! With things coming out of their mouths like " the number on the title is also on a little metal plate on, what is that called? A firewall?" I know in parts alone you couldn't build it for under $35K. They had it advertised with just one blurry picture of the engine compartment. So I had him send me some pictures and I was like...Wow I better jump on this. If I flip it, I know I wont get hurt.
Sounds like you know more about just about everything on this one! Best of luck to you!

I can't believe I sold my thirty four coupe.must have been temporary insanity. Boy this has been a rough week.
Whew... I thought it was "THE" 34.. not "that" 34.. you tease you!:LOL:
Hope you "did alright" financially, it can be so hit or miss and even more-so this time of year.
I did pretty good on it. I enjoyed it for almost 2 seasons and walked away with a small profit (2 grand) so I'm happy especially in todays market. I think the thing that helped was the fact that it was an all steel coupe. This guy said he'd looked for quite some time before he found the right one. I'm just happy it was me. Putting the rest of the cars in storage for the winter so I'll have an empty garage with just the "other" 34 to work on. Hoping my back holds out and I finally get it done. Confidence level is low but stranger things have happened.
It's nice to hear you made a profit on it. You can't beat that. Here's to wishing you good luck on your back and health staying well to allow you to finish the sedan!
