That is a nice ride! Great story and I'm sure some memories too!

My first attempt at making headers. Relearning how to TIG. Had to break out the MIG a couple times to fill some holes. Have muffler inserts and turn outs to quiet it down some. The engine is a 351w. Bought on the cheap. Has almost no ridge. I plan on a low buck ring and bearing job, cam and perhaps some aftermarket aluminum heads. Once the car is sorted out, I may build the engine. I hope to include some sway bars and enter a SCCA autocross class that is geared for Muscle cars and hot rods. The CAM class tends to be a good group that just wants to have fun and not be overly competitive.
