A little big and 1 bad pic, but other than that I did manage to do it without screwing it up to bad. This winter I hope to have a big block built for my chevelle, and the 434 sb in it will go in the dodge. It has 230 ported dart heads, Motown block, Eagle forged rotating assy, 10 1/2 to 1 comp, and a bullet solid roller. I think I'm going to change the rear end and go to something narrower and a little bit stouter. Tub it and put more rubber in the rear. Any other questions just ask.
I personally like the size of photo you posted so just keep doing that. Looks like you started with a really nice bodied car for your project and although some would refer to that model as ugly, I think they are cool and especially if you tub the rear and with that engine, it will be an exciting car to drive and play in.
I'm not crazy over it, looks wise, and it wasn't in great shape to start with, little on the rough side, but it looks decent now. The more I look at it, I think a pro street look would really help the looks. I have super victor and a 850 Q series QF carb on the 434 now, I'd like to do a tunnel ram, 2 holleys, and a set of fenderwell headers. Something to play around with I guess. I have a fresh PG trans with Coan parts and a trans brake. Also a pistol grip hurst quarter stick, may use that, can't really sell it and get my money back. This is kinda a budget build, going to do the interior myself, that ought to be good.
Yeah those business coupe bodies seem to be pretty much a love or hate them deal. I had a 49 Plymouth version many years ago and was looking at another one a few years back. The color you choose to put on them seems to really make a big difference on their visual appeal.

They were not my favorite as a kid though they do grow on you. IMHO, this is the most iconic one of all.
Cool ride, two seat coupes are really slick looking. What drive train are you going to use?
For street use, very strongly recommend larger diameter rear bushings. Study mid-size GM arrangements, B-body Chevelle, Monte Carlo, Cutlass. Love the splayed 4-link.
Billy Shope is one of the original Chrysler Corporation Ramchargers engineers, you might enjoy his musings on suspension geometry, I know I did....

Billy had a hand in designing and building "The High and the Mighty" C/Altered '49 Plymouth business coupe that NTFDAY (Ken) linked for you in post #6. The car originally ran a 354 early hemi with 3-speed manual transmission. It's my favorite drag car of all time....

Looks to be a great project. I like the 51 look. It has a tough stance, nice curves and just the right look with what your doing already!
Nice coupe! It looks like you've gotten a lot of work done on it so far!
Inspector, I'm thinking about a narrowed rear end and some more tire. If I do, I'll go 4 link, and panhard bar. This was going to be a cruiser, but my chevelle has more room and really handles good so I was thinking mild BBC for it and a 3.08 gear.
This is my chevelle.
Sweet Chevelle!!
Making progress. It's on stands which explains high stance.
