Yea whiplash I am planning on laying the windshield back. I have got 4 chevy now,an this one is probably going to get touched in every piece. I am not so much worried about it looking stock, but looking like mine.
I figuring 2 to 2 1/2 in the front and 1 to 1 1/2 in the back. I have always thought that the windshield would look better laid back a little and a little shorter.
Got the four corners mounted to hold the body in place. Now to start putting the floor braces in.

Used a oxygen bottle to roll the shape an the bead roller with a inch a half radius due to get the shape. Jonathan

That's now I built my Anglia and although it sounds like one is creating more work it is easier if wheel tubbing etc. as Jonathan is doing. Very nice work too you are doing Jonathan and thanks for posting.
Thanks, I thought I would try something different and if you look closely I am using 3/4 in angle with 1/2 inch tubing underneath it with 1/4 -20 nutserts in the tubing with recessed screws an made a frame inside the body with the hopes of being able to take the screws out an lift the body off the floor pan an firewall. To make it easier to work on.

I also made my cross braces attach to the tubing,with nutserts in the frame and pieces of 3/16 leather strap in between the frame and braces.
Leather strap, interesting choice of material. I'd be concerned with the leather holding moisture. Why not rubber?
Nice work on the floor fab etc. I had a friend show me that a telephone pole was a great source for building wheel tubs. He said those are everywhere and standing firm ready to use. :LOL:
Hey firebird from what I could tell that is what they used back then . They liked to use tar an paper board for insulation.
But I did try rubber an it wanted to collapse to much an not hold it shape. I figure when it get painted I will soak then in oil are something.

For what it's worth, Ford used this type of material between body and frame. It's treated not to rot, and it might work for you.

Thanks for the link, I have used something similar before. I got the leather for free, we have a lot of walking horse stables around here. I will treat it before final install.
I started filling in the gaps between the angle and the body.
