New Driver Floor Pan
Cut the driver side floor out to make room for the new floor pan and other 18 gauge steel. Test fit and left the new floor pan in with weld clamps (keep the critters out). I will hammer and dolly the one edge so the clamps are perpendicular to the original steel and the new steel before welding. It's hot out. I'm done for the day. I still have to cut out the passenger side.
"par...ren...thet......ic....ally?" - Ha, you caught that. I love that word. Recalcitrant is another good one. I use it on my 3 year old just to try and hear hear say it back. "I'm not being re-cal-si-bent daddy!" Well I'm off to lay on the couch, cataleptic.

Nice! Very clean looking work.

Thanks Falcon. My son helped. It was his first time with a jig saw. From his Facebook posts he's having a good time with it.
The one side's gap is to big. Most if it should come together when I get the two plates running in the same plane. If not I was going to drill a hole in each and then pull the new sheet closer. I have room on the opposite (door) side.

First time I used the wheel drum puller. It worked well. I cut and peeled stuck drums off in the past. All the brake parts were new-14 years ago. I am replacing them all, both sides (about $200).
When I put the old dry rotted tire back on the rim there was a small leak at the bead. The rims were pretty pot marked before and after sandblasting. Guess I will have to get some new rims and tires.
I have the doors off the hinges and I almost have both fenders off. Most all connections were nut and bolt. I am considering tacking a threaded plate at each receiving hole located on each wheel well.
The passenger floor pan and extra 18 Ga. steel are in.
Spent time at the pool with a few of the kids (included the littlest). Helped my son with his mowing job. He helped me cut our lawn and clean up the garage (every weekend chore). I hung a fire extinguisher.
All 6 kids were here and we grilled which included my wife's homemade jalapeno poppers. Smores are waiting.:)
Hope everyone had a safe, fun, and productive weekend.

Always good to get some of that yucky work behind you!!! Good to hear you also had a good weekend with family, a guy has to make sure to get away from a project sometimes and do that fun stuff!!!!!

Update: Got some of the driver side floor welded in. Lesson learned - next time replace the entire floor and fillet weld around outside edge. 2Bl Stock Holley Carburetor is off. Waiting on rebuild kit for Carb and my 25% 75% Mig gas bottle to be inspected and then refilled.

Sounds like you're making great progress!

Thanks. We had a great time at the pool. She's in the bed, blanky in hand, and out cold.

It's alive - just...
Edited - Video is now on later post - youtube
:D Well, it's running for the first time in 14 years. I'm feeling pretty satisfied. I am going to put a four barrel on it - now that I feel more reassured that I'm not throwing my money away.
It's been a while - Had to put an 88 Chevy S10 back together, fix the home AC blower fan motor, range top on the stove, work, normal chores, and be a dad.
But I'm still here and I will persevere and get this Jeep on the road .
Weld gas should be in any day and I can get back to the floors. :D
