Small Update... but no pictures :(
I have all the metal work done on the cab and doors now. I will be loading it up on the 9th and taking it out to my friends shop to get started on the paint process. I'm in a time crunch. I have to have the cab and doors bolted on the chassis for good, sound deadening done, all rubber installed, and the glass in by the end of the month. On August 1st it will be delivered to RPL customs to start on the custom interior. At that point I will open the can of worms that is the bed. It should keep me busy for another month before it is ready to be taken to the shop for paint.
Wish me luck guys. I'm shooting to have it all done by the first week of November so I have a few weeks to work on any tuning bugs and hopefully wear the back tires out enough to warrant getting the new wheels/tires. :)

I have every confidence that you'll meet your dead line. And it'll be top notch to boot!

Good luck and it sounds like you're well on your way!

Well we had to make a slight change in plans. The shop with the booth is a total mess and the owner needs to move out about 7 cars. In the meantime we moved the cab to another house to get it ready to paint.
Here is the first blocking with the old DP90 that was on the cab.

Then I sealed it back up with SPI Epoxy. I'm using only epoxy and slick sand in a few small areas to finish it out.

Today we started another blocking session and will finish that up tomorrow. Also got the filler work done on the firewall.

At the end of the day I shot 2 coats of slick sand on the firewall and on the roof.

Another 10 hour day of sanding tomorrow :)

I thought I would share these.
Ashley's Mom broke out the camera and took a few shots of us over the last couple of days.
One thing that has changed is Ashley's Father is now involved in helping us getting it all painted. He is now retired and did only full restorations and is a very very talented painter. He was kind enough to pass along his knowledge to me over the last 8 years. I'm very excited to have his guidance with painting this truck and he also gets to help finish it out the way he always wanted to.
This is our "A-Team"! LOL

This is probably one of my favorite shots of the entire build.

Very cool pictures! The one with you and Ashley's Father is special - passing on the skills.

A bit of an update. I just got home from shooting basecoat on the cab and grille. Tomorrow morning I will go to the booth early and get the clear coat sprayed.
Here is where we left off.

IF everything goes as planned I will be bringing it home Monday. Sunday I will start on the doors and hopefully have them ready to go to the booth on Thursday of next week.

It looks fricken sweet! That's really cool that your father in law gets to help finish your truck with you and your fiance.

Cab and grille are now cleared and back home. The lengthy process of cutting and polishing has started.

Also made some stands for the doors. They are currently in their last coat of epoxy and I plan on having them finished by next Tuesday.

Ditto. You're doing a fantastic job on the prep & finish.

Finally, Saturday Morning I have a group coming over to lower the cab back onto the chassis. Tomorrow I have to finish up with the buffer and Friday pick the doors up from the booth. Here are some pictures.

Ummm... It's a car, not a parabolic mirror for a deep space telescope.
Or maybe it's both?
Amazing work.
