First move was to order a battery. Selected a Braille battery. It s about 5lbs lighter and a bit smaller than the original style more power and sealed no leak no fumes. Think this is the only model Harley that has the battery mounted under the seat.
While waiting for it to show started cleaning and pollishing. Object was do what could be done without taking things appart unless something needed repair then go off on it.
So pollished side covers, chrome, wheels etc. Treated the leather with saddle soap. Emptied the old fuel out. Prievious owner only put 50 some miles on it the previous year after installing the rear tire. Ordered a Harley offical repair manual (60.00 not impressed with it at all). Never worked on a Harley before and found this to be a one of a kind rare model. Listed as a 86 FXRS SP lowrider SE. It was a new frame, trans, engine. Was not built on the assembly as it wouldnt fit existing fixtures. So it was hand built.

Nice Nostalgic looking Bike, Turbo. FWIW, we used to preserve our expensive show saddles with Transmission Fluid. It worked better than the expensive Lexol leather preservative too. You gonna keep it pretty much stock?
