Don't bother getting it tested until you learn how to do it--------one of the beautys about tig welding is that you can mininize the haz instead of broadening and deeping it-a proper fitted joint can be welded with the proper depth penatration without going back over it to do more-----????

It seems to me, from one of his last posts, that he anticipated that by assigning members to his "Ignore List" nobody would be able to see anything that member posted to one of his threads. For example, by putting "RSpears" on his "Ignore List", no one would be able to see any of the responses I had posted on his build thread. When he figured out that by choosing to ignore "RSpears" the only change was that HE didn't get to see what I posted, but everyone else would still read everything I posted, he elected to delete most of his posts, apparently feeling that it would put him in a better light than having his posts visible. To each his own, I suppose....

Crikey!
I've thrown some good hissy-fits in my time; but this is the ultimate hissy-fit to end all hissy-fits.
Gotta laugh though...

Jack, I hope you don't think i was negative or abusive towards him? Because I was down right angry. He claimed to be a mechanical engineer, yet professed and proceeded with very questionable practices. As a mechanic engineer he has a moral and professional duty to protect the public. In no ones book could you call jumping up and down on the front of the frame a true test of a weld's strength. And that raised my anger level, to think someone might unknowing believe him and get hurt because of it. And just so he could further his ego!
No excuses for that kind of behavior...... Sorry, just unacceptable.......

IMHO, it appears that common sense went out the window. In my 40+ years in the manufacturing sector I've witnessed many "engineers" that couldn't walk and chew gum at the same time and I've worked with some that were absolutely brilliant.Ken Thomas

The same generalization can be made of doctors, lawyers, teachers, mechanics, painters, machinists and any other profession or trade one cares to name. I fail to see how that statement adds anything to the conversation - except for a veiled slap at engineers. I'm done with this thread.

From what I could actually see the whole build looked to be questionable, unfortunately things were getting deleted as I was viewing which wasn't making much sense to me.
Unfortunately you can lead a horse to water but you can't make it drink i'm afraid !!!

Welcome to CHR. I think that you need to hook up your vacuum advance. At part throttle when cruising you have less air and fuel in each cylinder, and the air-fuel mixture is not as densely packed...
