A few pic's of the truck and the plane. Just finished the new firewall for the plane, thats the oil tank sitting in front of it, with the fuel tank above that. The truck now has a complete shifter installed and tranny lines are just about done, waiting on the condenser unit so I can figure out where the tranny cooler will mount in relation to it. I'm running trans fluid through the rad and then through the extra cooler and back to the trans.

Lookin' good! A word on the tranny plan - The purpose of running the tranny fluid through the radiator heat exchanger is to transfer heat such that the tranny stays within operating range. This means that it may get heated by the engine coolant during warmup and low load operation during cold weather, and may be lose some heat to the coolant in times of heavy loading, like towing heavy loads. Running the external cooler as you stated may result in your tranny running cold most of the time, which can be as bad or worse than running hotter. IMO external coolers are only needed for extreme operating conditions, and even then they need a means of controlling flow based on temperature, or cycling a fan to control the air flow. Again, my opinion.

Great Pics and thanks for sharing them. I'll echo Mr. Spears thoughts on the trans cooler.

The plane is amazing.. thanks again.

Both look great, and I agree agree with 34-40 the plane is amazing! Do you have any different pictures of the fuel tank setup or a wider angle shot, having trouble figuring out the orientation of things! Planes from the past fascinate me!

the fuel tank in the pic is junk, total junk it will be recycled. I'll post as we build.

Darn it I thought I was doing good. I guess I'll forgo the extra cooler for now and install a temp gauge and see how it performs.

Here's a couple pic's of the finished engine mount for the se5 plane. There are over 400 parts, washers, bolts, nuts, screws and brackets used to hold bulkheads # 1,2,and 3 together no wonder I was sick of working on this part. The truck is waiting for the new rack and pinion to come in, the pressure line seat was shot on the old one.

Got the Rack and Pinion for the truck. I'm using a T-Bird rack, new no rebuild. Have to paint yet. I also got my gas line run up to the carb. I used Aluminum tubing and covered it with a very thick shrink tubing that has heat activated adhesive on the inside and it bonded to the tube very well. Mounted the tubing to the frame rails with some aircraft grade adel clamps, just happen to fine some laying around the shop. I left the last foot or so uncovered as can be seen in the pic.
