just click on pic and it should play
My knee-jerk response to this picture, is to quote captain obvious and point out that your steering wheel is on the wrong side: but that made me think, and I have a serious question instead:
Are the fuel and brake pedals a mirror image? That is to say, is the fuel pedal under the right foot or the left?
fuel under the right, clutch on the left
Sounds as Great as it Looks, congrats on the milestone...
All the work for the intake and such looks great! It sounds awesome too! Congrats!
Wow, sounds very good, have you tickled the engine up internally or left it reasonably stock and just added the turbo's ?
I understand the dash layout now seeing that last photo, thanks. Will you be running a heap of gauges or keeping the actual dash simple with speedo, rev counter and the main oil, temp etc ?
this engine is stock just to get it on the road , build a better one later with the right bits inside it. dash is to be kept as stock looking as possible.
hopefully have it driving next weekend.
dash now nearly done, decided to quilt the dash top the same as the floors.this is how it came out.

Wow, great work!
before i strip the car for final welding wanted to get the rear arches and the rear valance sorted. using front arches and stretching them 3 1/2" to make removing the rear wheels easier.

I like it! It's gonna be a sweet ride!
Very good young man, and you have retained the stock look of the wee flare. I like the detail you have gone to with all the little things that so many people won't notice when you show the car, eg, the exhaust pipes shaped the same as the sill panel. You have created a very fine car and , who knows, just one day you may be called a proper Hot Rodder .:D:D;);)
Jeezzz... don't hang a label like that on'im!
thanks for the comments its much appreciated.
car is now stripped for final welding. over the last few weeks have managed to get alot done with only a couple of bits left to do.
made a roll over frame to help welding the under side
http://i667.photobucket.com/albums/v...pskaxx9dia.jpg
http://i667.photobucket.com/albums/v...psh1uwjmsc.jpg
sorted out the with new headlight backing panels and cut the rust out of the slam pane,l also narrowed the front bumper so it fits the body better.
http://i667.photobucket.com/albums/v...pst6vex0ny.jpg
one of the last jobs is to sort the ends of the dash. having these so the dash flows into the doors.

just the other side of the dash to do and then its on to grinding all the welds down.
more soon.
That "roll over frame" is a neat piece of work. Don't believe I've ever seen one like that before, and it's a slick idea, IMO.
You are adding in a pile of details, can't wait to see it in paint.
I note this tread was started February 24th 2013.
To go back and look at it as it was is to fully appreciate how far you've come.
Sir; I dips me lid to you.
You've done a magnificent job.
thanks 34-40, johnboy. cant wait to start sorting it for paint the problem is what colour. and your right johnboy car has come a long way in a short time but it has been a long time in the planning, about 15 years to be exact.
Great metal work! I wish I would have stretched and raised my quarters on my vette now for the exact reason you did. It is way tight getting the big tires back on the car. Great work on the dash too. That is really cool. That lay over frame adapter is too cool!
thanks guys its much appreciated for the comments.
took the car down to the nsra supernats here in the uk

couple more bits to weld up but this week car is being stripped for body and paint, more soon
I am sure you received an amazing reception from fellow rodders when they looked at the detail you have built into your car. Thanks for the update and I will look forward to the next ones.
not been on for awhile but finally getting back into the build. chassis has all been blasted and the old paint sanded of just leaving a few rust repairs before final body work. one of the areas that needed sorting was how the bottom of the front wings bolted up to the sill and the fit of the exhaust through them.
http://i667.photobucket.com/albums/v...pseff00vcf.jpg
wing now bolts to the sill
http://i667.photobucket.com/albums/v...psvytnjnfr.jpg
welded in a new panel allowing for the exhaust hole.
http://i667.photobucket.com/albums/v...psvwidj5fi.jpg
and then added the arch lip

http://i667.photobucket.com/albums/v...ps2nzfzguu.jpg

reshaped the hole
http://i667.photobucket.com/albums/v...psvdfa5tdq.jpg
http://i667.photobucket.com/albums/v...psrjwe1w6i.jpg
to fit the exhaust had to cut the pipe a reposition it for the correct fitment.

So glad to see you had come back and shared some more pics. And as always, the work is outstanding! You set a very high bar for the rest of us to reach.
Great work.
Great work and nice to see you back on here!
thanks guys for the comments, pushing now to get all the rust repairs done so i can start prepping for paint. more soon

http://i667.photobucket.com/albums/v...psyfzl99rp.jpg

http://i667.photobucket.com/albums/v...pstrtuw3xu.jpg
sanded down and skimmed

http://i667.photobucket.com/albums/v...pspz0ajbg0.jpg

http://i667.photobucket.com/albums/v...psrrgiyptk.jpg
hopefully get some more primier on on tuesday night.
Is the side marker lights a legal requirement? Or do you just like'em?
need the side indicators as the car has to go through an iva test as its modified more than the 8 point system we have over here.
sorry 34 40 cant seem to work out how to get a link to the iva test to work.
really starting to get the body work sorted now, blocked the car with 120 grit today with just the roof to do tomorrow and then back in primer ready for monday as i have a couple of days off.
