Thanks! It's getting close so I'm getting pretty excited about getting it on the road. I appreciate everyone's positive comments and interest. When I first posted this I figured there'd be zero interest in a crappy old green lowbuck fourdoor project. There's much nicer and better build cars on the forum to look at. You are all a pretty cool bunch of guys and some fine builders.

Lots done yesterday; fuel pump back on, plug wires cut, many small fittings on the engine back in place. I started building an exhaust out of my stock of exhaust pipe leftovers from other projects. I found this Magnaflow so now I'll have one high performance part. The front clip is back on so it's starting to look like a car again!

Today i finished getting the fuel system lined out. A big plus was that the previous owners had the tank treated for rust and painted it so all I had to do was add a GM fuel sending unit and bolt it in. I ran a new aluminum fuel line as the original was in pretty bad shape. If everything goes as planned I should have a running engine by this time next week.

I put an exhaust together out of my leftover pile, installed the radiator, picked up a new battery and tried to start it. No fuel. I've got a Holley electric pump I'll try later this week.

Aw, come on, dump some gas down the carb. We want to hear this thing run. It should sound pretty good through that muffler. You've really done the old gal nice.

Thanks, Don. Believe me, I tried. Wouldn't fire, though. It was getting pretty late last night so i called it off and went to bed. As soon as I get fuel flowing I'll see where I'm at; I'm not 100% sure i'm getting fire to the plugs, either. I think I found a use for the green paint, what do you think of this?

It's alive!! I finally got it started and it sounds really good. Distributor was 180 degrees out and I'm having some carb issues. I cleaned it up and rebuilt it using a video online but for some reason the accelerator pump is not pumping right. Regardless, it sure sounded good to hear it run. Now to finish up the wiring, bleed and adjust the brakes, and get some tires mounted so we can get a test drive going. Im going to call a carb shop and see if i can get this carb issue worked out.

Yeah, Steve, I figure the color is close enough to olive drab that I can make it work with just painting on the star and serial number. It'll work for now.

A lot of time on the accelerator pump they need to soak a littleto sweal and pump good. Great to hear it's running.

Way to go!! What Mike said on the accelerator pump... is the stroke on it right? Some of the old carbs had adjustments on the pump arm....

Thanks! Yeah, it felt really good to hear it come to life. Whats happening is the new accererator pump is hanging up in the bore and not pumping. It's and old Carter Ball & Ball single barrel carb if anyone has experience with them. I followed a video online by Mike's Carbs and they explained the rebuild really well; I followed right along with it and it went together fine. But it's almost like this may be the wrong part number pump or something. I might post some pics tomorrow and see if anyone has any ideas after getting a visual.
