I haven't tried those on angle grinder. How well do those take care of surface rust? That A sure is starting to look good. Are you gonna give it a hair cut?..............:D

Well I was given a 1969 302 that was pulled from neighbors 65 Mustang . He asked if I wanted it I said yeah thinking I was getting a spare 289 .
It had sat in a salvage yard in Cali where he bought the car .
When I got it home and tore it down I seen the bottom roller assembly had been balanced out and it came with a torker 4 brl intake .
So it must have been raced the cylinders i honed to .003 over stock to clean up .

Well it came together like this with some GT40P heads little torq cam .

But thats not the good news this is , I picked this up about 3 weeks ago guy wanted it out of his way $500 he took it as part on a swap .
This engine was already torn down so inspecting it was real easy . This owner never unwrapped anything to look .
The crank was just turned .010 on the mains and rods all new bearings . New cam with it but I ordered a little hotter one more duration .
I could see it was together for a short time then taken apart so maybe the cam was bad . The complete valve train is new or rebuilt for this engine .
So I seen on the front .030 so he had it pulled and bored , located some .030 over pistons that are really dirty . This is where it sat till I got it .

So I'm a little confused on what you're saying, Bobby. Did the '69 302 come with all the mods you described for free or is there another 302 involved that cost $500 and you combined them? Either way, sounds like you got some fun stuff to play with!! :LOL:Quote:

Another thing these Nailheads are really rough cast . Around the lifter bores especially , they can have a 1/64 thick slag hanging on . So from a recommendation I did spend a few hours and de burred them . This will be the new HEART for the 31 A will be a fun ride .
One owner started it with a cut off wheel luckily no damage .

Don yep a Nailhead is the only reason to pull a Ford and put in a GM .
Mike yeah knee stops the long hours , but I get to play a bit . Yesterday my POR 15 engine paint kit cam in so I started the stripping today a little bit . Picked these stickers off ebay . Here is the paint kit also .

Jack from what I have heard and what POR 15 states it will not burn off . It was manufactured just for this application . Now I hope all this is true hate to redo anything down the road .
