Somebody asked why don't I just nail it together quick !!! Well everything needs to be put together and clearances checked, Last night this was typified by a clearance problem on my roller rockers, 3 of them are scraping the valve spring retainer, I think I have the problem solved by installing a spacer under the rocker shaft supports and use a slightly longer pushrod or buzzing a bit off the rockers, I've emailed the supplier to see what they suggest.

Had a slight accident last night with one of the roller lifters, It won't hold me up though as there is already a replacement due here on saturday.

I assembled the motor with stock gaskets to check piston to valve clearances and everything was fine and will put it all back together tomorrow night for the last time.
Here is how its looking put together, still not made my mind up what to do with the valve covers but they can stay natural until I do.

Enjoy the little things in life, and you may look back one day and realize that they were really the BIG things.

looks good Steve, but just like a lot of parts that need a slight "tune-up" before they're ready for use!!!!!Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

used to be that a set of rat tail files was needed for most things in hot rodding

I am afraid that your choice of engine will continue to haunt you til well past Halloween----------

At least the rockers are marked where you need to remove material---------really tho, this is a fairly common issue with leading edge develop of different engine packages

whats the over drive ratio on the blower??????

Well my Head gaskets turned up bang on time so the top end was stripped off for final assembly, all clearances were fine and everything worked like it should so it can now go back together for the last time

I thought i would post a pic of the SCE Titan copper gaskets, they are really clever bits of kit as they are fitted with O rings which save a lot of expensive machine work on the block.

Well the problems keep arising !!! ran into another one today, heads are now all torqued down and I wanted to address the rocker fouling issue but after stripping the shafts down I found the base of the shaft assembly was fouling the head studs !!! I think whats happened here is it was made for an engine with head bolts as there small recesses for the bolt heads to go into, as i'm using ARP studs which use a parallel washer and a thicker nut the recess needed to be bigger all round.
Anyway an hour on the mill sorted it all out and they both sit down nice now.

I started by doing a single pass with a 5/8" cutter but it wasn't enough

That's a fairly common occurrence when mounting those type rocker assemblies on several engines----FE ford engines especially---got to clear the hardware used, generally will clear OEM, but nearly everyone that goes to rockers like that have head studs that stick up too far-----

Hi Steve, that engine is coming together nice and we look forward to the video of it running both at start up and at the drags. I visited another forum last night and still a wee bit shocked as to what may happen there with your build thread over there. Well let me tell you mate, you have a heap of appreciated keen as mustard chaps here waiting for your every post so keep at it sir.

I maybe a little crazy but it stops me going insane.
