Cheers Robin, yes sticking the doors together can be challenging !!! I hold them together with short self tapping screws and fill the holes in after countersinking them with GRP bonding paste, The stuff i stick the skins together is resin & hardener with blown fibreglass mixed in it, it looks like fibreglass dust similar to cocaine, seems to work really well, what do you use ???

Had to take a break from block sanding the GRP as my arms were hanging off !!! so while i was on the trunklid i remembered I needed a licence plae bracket.
All made from 3/16" stainless plate.
Started by making a foot plate to bolt to the trunk but it looked a bit boring so decided to make a trim for it that matched up with one around the blower scoop opening.

Sounds pretty much the same stuff,Steve..A product called West System..A microsphere type glue powder mixed with resin and catalyst, has other kool applications as well, like fixing SMC type products,as in,,truck fronts,bumpers,etc..When I repair an old Western Star front, they dont come apart again.....

Steve,
You sure do some nice work!
I don't comment very often on the board but I read it daily and after clicking the "What's New" button, your thread is most often the first I read. Your work is WAAAAY beyond what I can do. I use your ideas, approach, and workmanship as an inspiration on whatever project I'm working on. My first thought is usually "dam that's nice".
Keep up the great work.Last edited by MikeB; 04-18-2012 at 12:44 PM. Reason: spacing

I saw last night on fb about John. The world sure lost a great one. I'm going to miss his humor, advice, and perspective from another portion of the world. Rest in Peace Johnboy.
