They were the outer handles on my 26T coupe i think, I was gonna make these in stainless but thought buying them would save a little time on the project.

Wow thanks for the link! What a talented guy Don Jr. is. If I read the other info from the band page correctly, our Don Sr. and his pops too are or were musicians too, something I never knew. Very cool. I really like the music they are playing too! Wish I still lived out that way to see them live.

The last few evenings have been spent making up some fenderwell headers, these curve up and over to clear my side steering draglink, tube is 2 inch stainless 316L primaries, unfortunately i couldn't find any stainless collectors at a sensible price so i've used some mild steel ones from Summit Racing.








Some 1/4" plate was spun in the lathe to make the quick release caps and a stud mounted in the end of the collector to take a wing nut for securing, the standard wingnut will be changed for some larger custom made ones when i get around to making them.
A gasket was cut from some Reinz boiler door gasket material.


















The primaries were started by squaring off the ends of the tube and welding to the flanges.

You make this stuff look way too easy, Steve. Really nice work on the headers and I especially like the single wing nut deal............very old timey.


You and Sue should have been here last night. Dan and I went to see Don's band and Dan sat in again. We had a blast and I even had a young lady ask me for a few dances.............being the gentleman I am, how could I refuse. I may have to start going out more.

Very nice work again Steve and with part being stainless and the primaries mild steel,are you going to have them chrome plated or go the cheap man way, aerosol spray on paint??
Hey Don,I watched a episode of CSI Miami last night and it was about cougars and cubs. Now mate, I'm going to watch all the episodes to see if you appear on it.

I've got a picture of Pops a few years ago that should explain everything...............

She's not a cougar unless she's fifteen to twenty years older than her "prey", so Don's cougars are going to be - oh, never mind......

Yup,,I enjoy watching this monster grow too..A proper cup of tea is probably helping with the build too....

Yep, Courgars to me would be just this side of DEAD !

Since we've already put Steves gasser thread in the dumpster we might as well continue the carnage.

Steve the headers look fantastic, and I agree the cap mechanism is cool! Don did you used to play saxophone too?
