It was the first indoor show in Albuquerque I had the 34 in. I did met a few guys that knew the original owner Tom Henderson and it was great to hear some of their stories about Tom. Tom moved to ABQ in 1952 and worked at an upholstery shop and ownwed an automotive paint and supply store so quite a few of the older gents knew him. Very few knew about this car which was a good thing for me.
The best story was from a member of our car club, The Route 66 Rodders. When I first saw the car in 2010 it was up on jack stands with the front left tire and hub off. It was also missing the brake shoe return spring. Well Don Petit who had a 46 Ford at the time the early 80s was in the East Mountain area when the return spring broke on the front brake of his 46. He stopped at Tom's house and Tom pulled the spring off the 34 and gave it to Don so he could get back into town. It was great to learn a little history of the car and it's previous owner.
Here's a picture of the brakes with the missing return spring!

While at the show I had local pinstriper, sign painter, artist Bob Padilla do some of his magic on the car.

Nothing fancy. Just some lines on the hood, headlight buckets and body line.

Gotta love that car! It's just dripping history, and the fact that you left it mostly as you got it is great, IMO.
It's a beautiful coupe,, love seeing pix of it..Even seen a few pix on FB..Gotta love it..:cool:
Perhaps you tire of hearing this but ~ that's just so awesome! Beautiful car in a beautiful setting. Thanks for sharing the pics too.
DMW,
Love the pics:), It's great you are getting it out on the road and showing it to everyone.
Jack.
As mentioned, you have done an absolutely excellent job on that car in retaining it's history but also replacing the engine with the flatty with some hot rod dressing on it. I would have it parked in my garage in a flash too...
