Annual Socks for Servicemembers Fundraiser
Over on Stovebolt.com we're doing our Annual Socks for Servicemembers Fundraiser. Last year we were able to buy & send 700 pairs of socks overseas to the military personal. Here's the write up from last year if you care to read about it. Even if you donate $5 the distributor will sell us three pounds worth of socks, yes the company we are buying them from will sell us sell socks by the pound.
So if you want to donate anything here is the paypal & snail mail link, when the page opens look to the left side of the page. Also in the write up there is an address in about the middle of the page for those of you who would like to donate books, snacks, personal items or whatever to the soldiers.
Also if you help w/a donation PLEASE be sure to let them know that you are from this website, that way not only you get recognition for the donation but also does CHR.....Thanks...joe

Joe, my wife just reminded me of one of my two brothers that served in the so-called Korean conflict. He got frost bite on his feet had problems from then on. When he was dying of cancer two years before he died he got a THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVIVCE, and a small check. I wonder how many pairs of socks could be bought for $700 Billion??? I will send what I can. Thanks for all that are serving at this time, and that have served in the past.
Richard

Joe it was just last Christmas that my brother went to Iraq for his first tour as a general medical surgeon. Care packages helped ease the pain from being away from his family. He truely appreciated everything sent his way. Add twelve more pound of socks to your list, .....and back to the top!

Thanks folks, but be sure to tell them you are from Club Hot Rod so not only you get mentioned but also this site. I have posted this on a few sites & it's great that this has became a multi-forum Fundraiser.
I know when Joe was in Iraq he told me that they would just throw the socks away after they wore them for a period pf time because the sand would eat them up. Thanks again....joe

And we have more donations coming.
the owners of Stovebolt will be calling in the morning to send off the first 300 pounds of socks to Iraq! We received over $500 in donations just in these few weeks we've been at it.
So one truck will hit the road soon and we'll get the graphic going for the second truck ... watch the December News page (which should be up by at least Monday).
Thanks gang for supporting this! We already raised more than twice as much as last year!

Thanks everyone... I thought I'd let everyone know that as of right now Stovebolt w/the help of you folks & others have collect enough money to send 2 truck loads or $800 worth of socks overseas to the Military Personal and we have started to fill a 3rd truck and have $275 worth loaded on that truck at this moment. Which comes out to about 600 plus pounds of socks that we have all bought for those folks. Look on this Stovebolt Page towards the bottom to see the write up on the Sock Drive.............joe
THANKS AGAIN EVERYONE.....
