So True, So True!!! Those gaskets are just miserable! in 3 hours I only got one of them clean of gaskets and ready to be dipped. I'll get the other one ready sometime this week.

I also got my friend Mark to bring his 28 Tudor over for some re-wiring, so I've got plenty to do all of a sudden!

Well I'm FINALLY done with gasket scraping! I actually used a bit from the lathe and ground it narrow enough and sharp enough to get through those miserable gaskets!

So both carbs are done and once I'm finished moving this snow and dealing with these single digit temperatures, I'll get back to work on it!

I want to clean the intake before installation so that'll be next I guess. At least it's progress I guess... LOL..

Nasty old carbs are finally cleaned up!!!! As for the single digit and negative double digit temps, seriously considering heading South for a month, tired of this crap already. Want to come along?

Been a while and I figured I better add in something for an update! Between the below zero temps and snowstorms and family duties or Mark's 28... I have actually made some time for my car. I got all the major components in place and have begun chasing down 1 system at a time. Here's a couple picks of the rough in.. I also realized that there's enough advertising for Shelby on this motor that I should get a commission check once a month!

Looks great in there, nicely detailed and super clean looking!! Very nicely done! I sympathize with you on the weather, same way around here except for considerably less snow.

Mike, it appears that your air filter is catty-wompus!! Oh, wait.....it's supposed to be that way!!!

It looks great!!! I'm excited for the video when you fire it up! You'll also have to get a shot of the gas gauge and see if it moves faster than the speedometer.....

So I did get a few hours in on the car.. things like the plug wires are on.. and plumbed the carbs with new gas line.. then I went to install the hold down for the distributor! Rut Row Ralph......... there's a cross connecting piece that travels right in front of the distributor and it is right over the threaded hole for the fastener and dizzy clamp!! So - two hours on Saturday and 3 more on Sunday!! All for 1 bolt!!

After cutting up a wrench and heating / bending it to get the angle and some grinding to get more throw... It's IN!

And the worst part has to be bending over them fenders!

Well.. it runs! Got a couple hours in today and went through the steps and got the car re-fired. Runs pretty decent right off and after chasing a couple nagging leaks.. I called it a day. Also spent a couple hours last night on Marks 28 A and got that running! He left the shop last night and his feet weren't touching the floor! Talk about happy! Shortly after he got back into the shop today he jumped into the A and tapped the key and it sprang to life and he was smiling ear to ear!

Later I had the coupe running and Mark starts the A and was "chuckin'" revs at me.. To Funny! Now he can't wait for springtime so we can go for a cruise! 8-)

Randy, I'll somehow figure out how to get a video for you....
