Holy Crap!!! I leave my computer for a few hours and look what happens!!!:HMMM: Talk about your thread hi-jack....actually more like lumberjack!! Dave, you really went out on a limb there.....**)**):whacked::LOL::LOL:
But there's a life lesson in all this, Mike.....this is what happens when you don't post pics!!:LOL:
Just for R2... If you look in the center of the pulley you can see the hub that protrudes through the flange of the pulley. The old balancer used a lip that came off the pulley and fit into the hub of the balancer.
The other picture is the after pic. All that remains of that lip on the bed of the lathe:LOL:
Heres a few pictures from this weekend. I didn't want to watch a boring race so I went to the shop... :) These first 2 are from Saturday.
And here's a couple from today.
Good progress, Mike!! The headers look really good and should lower the underhood temps a bit, too!
I'm lovin' all the proof, Mike!! I guess I better start practicing what I preach, huh? Yeah, I've been busy, too but I won't clog up your thread with it!
Congrats! The engine's looking great!!! Now lower that front end!!!:LOL::LOL:
It is Alive!! Got it assembled enough to fire it off! Sounds ok, really doesn't sound any different than before. Didn't run it long, radiator needs to go in this weekend.
Got some more done, got the radiator in and filled, 3 3/4 gallons of antifreeze coolant, thirsty B _ tch.. Did a re-start and roughed in the timing and did the cam break-in. Started "playing" with this new distributor. All electronnic, even the centrifugal and vacuum advance! It all based on engine rpm and under the distributor cap is all circuit board. 3 rotary dials set max rpm, "vacuum" advance & "mechanical" advance, plus 3 settings to lock up all advance and startup advance retard, pretty cool imo..
Kewl deal! What distributor is that? Lots of stuff to play with on the tune-up!!!!
