Not knowing what you think is a fair budget, ($5000 is fair to some and unfair to others) I would think seriously about upgrading to some heavy duty forged parts, so the 347 option would cost no more than the same in 302 cubes.

And then I would fit up a vortex type supercharger. You get a very streetable engine, bulk torque and an ear to ear grin. And you can buy that stuff second hand if brand new is outside of your budget.
