go with the chevy 302... just because no one ( newer generation ) has heard of it.
One poor quality video containing a bit of time picturing the engine, then about a minute of hearing an engine and seeing a tach hit 8500.... A brief statement saying it's stock parts.....
:LOL::LOL::LOL: I'm sure it's all 100% accurate!!!:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:
not exactly what I'd call irrefutable evidence... Not saying a 302 can't make that kind of power, but if it did would peak horsepower @ 8500 rpm be usable anywhere but a drag strip????
who would care!?
yeah, but Scooter!!! A 240 horsepower gain over the factory using all stock parts????????????????
My sister had a 302 in her car, I don't remember if it was a camaro or Z28 but
she was always bragging about it though. I drove it a couple times and it couldn't get out of it's own way. I remember thinking my 67 mustang that was alot heavier with a 302
would eat that thing alive. Just my opion of it, I've driven both and it was not even close. Ford hands down, no contest. Kurt
she probably had a 305
The chevy 302 was short lived I have read because ford came to chevy b!tchin about how the ford already ahs a 302 and they shouldnt be coping their design. So chevy decided to make the 305 thats the way i understood it
No It was a 302, And I had a 307 in a 69 chevy handy van.
Now that thing screamed, and with N50's on the back it would
pull the front tires up off the ground.
And it was stock, I just call it the way I see it. Kurt
chevy didint make a 305 until 10 eyars later though. well then you must not of been driving it hard enough! hell they ran 13's and 14's stock on bias ply's! you gotta rev them. they are cars for people who are not scared to see the tach buried at 7000+
Are you askimg about a Boss 302 or 302/5.0 Ford engines? 2 entirely different engines!
I had a 307 Chevy in a Chevelle once. Worst under powered engine ever.
A 302 Chevy and a 305 aren't even in the same league.
If you take a 327 small journal block and put a 283 crank in it would that make a homemae 302. Trying to settle an argument with a buddy
Here is a DZ Z/28 at Work  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JiuJ1...eature=related
Like the ford 302, versatal, and capable of serious power. Never heard of the camero 302 until earlier this year. But comparing chevy to ford will always result in split opinions. With the right set up both are probably capable of amazing power. Let's salute both engine makers for designing such great small block engines with such versatility. Glad Ford made so many to keep the prices down for future projects. JMO.:3dSMILE:
actually a 327 with a 283 crank is how chevy made the 302 in 1967.
