I use Donovan gear drives on everything, I don't know why, I guess old habits are hard to break. Mine don't make any noise.

well that type has no floating gear set in it the jackson type has the idle gears banging around . were your s just has one . the belt is a much better way to go$$$$ but it is hard to beat to good chain set for the money
