    Edelbrock 1406 on 351C

    Hi guys,

does anyone have any thoughts on whether an Edelbrock 600 #1406 would need richening up a bit from the way it came new, when put on top of a stock 351C Cobra Jet 4V? Engine is stock except I am using the Edelbrock #2665 intake.
My feelings are that these carbs are usually set up to be close when fitted to a Chevy 350, so maybe the 351C (which breathes better) could do with richening up on power & cruise a stage or two??

Nope, not funnin around at all.
I've read all the carb books (I keep re-reading them too) and the instructions for the Edelbrocks quite thoroughly. Just wondered if anyone had had any personal experience of jetting requirements for the Edelbrock 600 on a bone stock 351C Cobra Jet.
Interesting that DennyW would have chosen the 700 Edelbrock. I was just wary of going too big on the carb for a street-driven big sedan with auto trans, where I really want just torque. I know the 4V Clevelands are a bit lacking in that department downstairs, and the top end breathing potential in this application is just wasted. I guess the new CHI 2V or Edelbrock 351C heads would be a big improvement - maybe one day...
Yeah,I know, I need to get it on the chassis dyno and dial it in!
