    GM style HEI distributors

I am seeing alot of GM style distributors for ford engines. Has anyone ran one? They are inexpensive(under 100.00) but kinda ugly. I dont really like the big GM cap. However. I want a simple reliable and inexpensive distributor for my 302, thought this might be a good choice.

i got one a few weeks ago actually.... runs great.... just so you know... theres not much room for adjustment because of the heater hose fitting in the intake manifold.... theres a slot on the base of the main housing that has to be lined up right on top of the fitting, and it gives you like an 8th of a stroke, so you gotta hit your timing just about right.... but it runs really nice.... i was having problems with stumbling at over 3000 rpms, and its eliminated now
just because your car is faster, doesn't mean i cant outdrive you... give me a curvy mountain road and i'll beat you any day

I was wondering if there would be an clearance issues. Does it look funny having a big GM dist. on the front of your motor?

I am running an 85 302. Both of my heater hoses hook to the water pump (I think) I am getting a 5.0 direct fit radiator with the inlet on the drivers side. Maybe I wont have the same problem.

its possible that you wont the problem... thats the only clearance issue i have on my car, and the 66 mustang has less under hood space than your car, so you shouldn't have any problems... and it does look a lil funny, but man its so nice have vaccuum and mechanical advance.... it tears up the streets now...
