mustang w/ flowmaster ???
before I trade my volvo for this mustang. I have a question. When you're really on it like getting ready to shift between 2nd and third. When you let off the gas, shift, then get back on it. There's a loud pop. I'm guessing it's a back fire. Any suggestions? or should I pass on the trade?

Sometimes too small exhaust pipes cause that. I went from 2" to 2 1/2" on my truck and it does not do that anymore. It ain't broke if you can fix it.

Oooo I see the problem. When driving a mustang you don't take your foot off the floor between shifts. lolOriginally posted by firebird45331

No it sounds like maybe a timing problem or it could be as simple as crappy fuel.
You mean motor pop not pop as in the rear end, tranny etc.

its coming from underneath the car, it sounds like a gunshot. Like a backfire. just does it once

not that I know of it sounds like it's coming right from the bottom under neath where the flowmasters have a their turn downs

does it do it in evey gear? does it do it every time.
See if it does it when u rev it sitting still.
If not sounds like you just have a carb problem to work out.

just does it after the shift when you get on it. It's fuel injected

mine used to do that when the timing was low for spray
set the timing and do a good tune up
97% chance it will fix it

we already replaced the plugs, wires, cap, and rotor. It sat out in a field for 3 years

Did u set the timing. Advance it some and see if that helps. If anyone ever had a kit on the car they retarded it to help prevent detonation.
