hi and thanks in advance.my dad is 68 yrs old and needing some special medical attention thats pricey so we decided to try to sell this engine.we took it out of a 60's galaxie in the early 80's and put it in a 74 f-250 high boy that i learned to drive in.he ran it for many years and eventually rebuilt it in the mid 90's.should have stock(ish) pistons,i know it has an rv cam, stock ford ignition.hooker headers,an edelbrock aluminum intake and i'm pretty sure he was running a 750 holley.it has the flywheel still too.external balance.it's definitely not a cj or scj,but i'm sure it's a 428 and not a 390.included also would be a ford "tri-power".3 holley 2 barrells with all the mechanism's and aluminum intake for it,and the cast air intake filter and housing with the thunderbird logo.this orginally came off a 390 "hi-po" as he called it.(solid lift engine)428 also has aluminum mickey thompson valve covers.dad ran it for a while but it was impractical for a work truck.any help would be appreciated or if you have interest please let me know.

First welcome! Good to have you here.. You give a whole lot of information but what is your real question? If you want specifics, then you'll need numbers from the block and heads, etc. etc.

You are going to need a minimum of the following casting numbers:
 Block
 Heads
 Intake manifold
 Carbs
 Exhaust manifolds
 Water pump
 Crank pulley

Then, and only then (regardless of which forum you are on) can we assist in a valuation.

Without seeing it, knowing what type of build it really has, I'll say in running condition (where it can be heard running) $3,000-$3,500 with the extra intake, carbs, and linkage. Not running $2,000 with all parts as a "mystery motor".

As mentioned above, numbers are vital to an accurate assessment - pictures would also help a lot.

Sorry that this is a result of unfortunate circumstances with your father - you're a good son to help him out here. Hope all turns out well for him...
