you may have to clock the alternator you remove the pulley and fan remove the 4 screws that hold the front half to the back half separate the 2 halves about an 1/8 in and toy can rotate the back half till the wires don't hit the block there are 4 possible positions ONLY SEPERATE THE 2 HALFS ENOUGH TO TURN THEM IF YOU GO TOO FAR THE ARMATURE WILL SLIDE OUT OF THE BRUSHES AND IT BECOMES A BIG PITA TO PUT BACK TOGETHER......ted
