Help with a 406 Please!
I am about to purchase a 406 fe block that has been sitting outside and has some rust in bores. I think it was bored to .060 over and I would like to know if I should proceed to acquire it and what problems I might encounter if I get it if any? I think it was in a jet boat.
Like if too much taper can I bore it further? Like to .080?
Or if too rusty.
As I take this block to the machine shop what should I have checked before proceeding?
This block has the thick webs and side provisions for cross bolts. I have seen on ebay a bottom girdle for fe's. Any thoughts on how that would work vs/ having cross bolts installed.
Any starting suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

That’s something I didn’t wanna read. I was lucky enough to meet him and his wife when they traveled Route 66, don’t remember the year. I just remembered meeting him at Ted Drew’s custard stand along...
