    1968-428 cj - what's it worth

Recently bought a 69 f-100 with a 428 cj . Would like to go back to original 302 and sell the 428 but don't know what it's worth.
    Serial # 8G236292 , below oil filter 8F27 , etched C , F017 & 352 on back of block. Motor runs and sounds good.

Would appreciate any info and/or help.

68 is a rare engine.... Could be a 69 built in 68..Either way it has some serious value I would think
I remember when hot rods were all home made.

How do you know it is a 428? you need to measure bore and stroke. What are head casting numbers? I bought mine at a U pull it for 150.

Part of the serial # tells it's a 68/Chicago assy plant/Torino body. NOT positve on the body style (going from memory here LOL) and will hafta look it up to be sure. But it's a late 68 engine for sure. The sandscratch C on the back tells you it's a 428CJ block. I'd be interested to know what heads and intake it has.

    Thanks for info
    Intake is C48E942
Haven't pulled valve covers , but on the outside between plugs has C8AE, which according to mustang 428 registry might be 427 low riser heads placed on some 1968 428's in 135 series cars. Still appreciate any help. Thanks.

The C8AE-6090-J heads were used on the 135 cars. The C8AE-6090-H heads are the bread and butter heads used on everything non hipo from 68-71. CJ heads are C8OE-6090-N. You need to confirm the last letter on the heads. And the intake number.... It's either a C4AE or C8AE then 9424 or 9425 then a letter after it. That would help.
