your going to need more than a360, its a truck motor.why not go with a 460 if you want fast. a 360 hp/429 was opt. in 1970 and a 460 will bolt in you will have to change the transmission the 439/460 uses a different bellhouseing bolt pattern. good luck.

About the best way to make a 360 fast is to make it a 390...Use 390 rods, crank, and pistons in your block. A good set of 390 GT heads, or some aftermarket aluminum heads along with an Edelbrock Performer RPM intake, Cam, and Carb....Edelbrock sells the cam, carb, and intake as a package. They are designed to work together. Also you'll need a good distributor, headers, and 2 1/2" dual exhaust....

what engine do you have in the galaxie now? the only FE fords i like are the 390/401hp.(1961-2)427 and 428.most 390's are good for a land fill.i have seen a 1965 ford 2-door hdtp that was given to the student that rented a room in our house,it was solid black had xl interior buckets, center console,4-speed and a 352 w/3x2 427 type exhaust and it was real quick.this was a new car.a st.louis ford dealer was the only one that sold them i think there were only 50 made. it also had gold pin stripping with no chrome trim.real prettycar.
