Denny,I know the Ford was wrong also but by how much I am un-sure.
I would like to know what head casting numbers where used on the Ford or the best flowing factory head that you could have got at the time.
I also want to know the factory cam specs. on the Ford.
I would say the Hemi would be off by over 200 hp.

I know the tunnel port heads are good heads, far better then the run of the mill medium risers, but I'd have to be a bit dubious on those numbers...

Heck, they're all a bit on the high side IMO.

    I just checked out a Mopar web-site.
Even the Mopar boys are calling BS.
There are saying it is a stroker, with more compression than stock and has a very stout mech. roller cam along with well worked heads.

Also on the tunnelport heads....in stock trim there is no flow gain over .600. They flow 292-300ish as cast. Ported maybe 320-340 although some claim more. I'd also like to know what cam they used besides what head, intake work was done. I do agree those numbers seems a bit high.

If those flow numbers are correct there would be enough head to support 575 to 600 hp in theory.

I'm wondering what head castings they were too. Dove made a few versions of the tunnelport heads and intake. Based on the factory molds and most retained either the SK or factory casting number. Those would get better numbers. Other than that the C7AE-6090-K was pretty much the standard service head offered thru the early 70's.

I have watched the tests three times now.
I would say the 426 Hemi is over rated by a min.of 200 hp. in other words I would say it would be much closer to the 600 hp area.
I think the FE would be closer to the 575 hp,I think it would take a huge mech. cam to even come close to the 637 area and I think it would be at a much higher rpm.

The Hemi was done up big time. I found the post on a Mopar Forum and all the guys there knew it too. And the guy who built the motor even said so!!!

As for the 427 Tunnel-Port. That would be about right (575-600HP). Remember it was an over the counter Engine and never came in a car!!! Also It could be a Ford part# C8AX-6250-D cam. Its a Mechanical with .600" lift with a Duration @ 330 In & Ex.

Denny W if you ever want to sell that 422 FE . Let me know I would like to run it in my 1965 Mustang with a C6 . I have a 9" rear end with a 3.89 gear . I think I would go up to a 4.33 gear . With this set up my car will fly Here are some more 600+ HP-FE Photos COOL
