Well I have no personal experience with the BT heads. But from what I've seen and read they are really nice heads. They do have a weird kind of raised port which can make some intake matches a pia. I also remember they need a custom rocker setup which was kinda pricey. I'd contact Barry R at www.survivalmotorsports.com He has run several sets on his engine masters entries with great results. Keith Craft also sells their version of the Edelbrock heads in a stage 1,2 and 3 CNC ported. Personally I'd look at your 406 to build. I've had 3 406's over the years and here's a little insight.... some of the 406 block castings have the crossbolt bosses. You just need a set of oem 427 caps or a set of pro-gram billet caps if no crossbolt bossesa are there. to crossbolt the block. also the 406's were solid lifter blocks with the oil pressure relief valve and enlarged oil passages like the 427. Last some 406 blocks were cast with 427 cyl wall cores. One of the 3 blocks i had did indeed have 427 cyl wall cores. The other 2 one had std 406 wall cores and one had one 406 wall core and one 427 wall core making it an oddball casting LOL.... but interesting!!! But I'd see what you have as you might already have a 427 block in the making. If the 406 just has std wall cores I'd build it anyway. They are great engines and pretty rare. With less than 1000 production 406 Galaxies made between 62.5 and 63.5 there are not many left. There are a few ways to go about building it that won't break the bank and give you a nice runner besides. So check the wallcores in that 406 block and see what you find. If you can snugly fit a 13/64" drill bit shank beween the cyls they are 406 wall cores. If you can fit a 7/64" drill bit we have a winner and possibly a 427 can be made coreshift permitting. FWIW the early blocks are the best and the 406 castings have been some of the best I've seen and used besides the 427's. With your current situation i think this would be the most cost effective way to go and you'd be very pleased with the end results. Plus the 3x2 is a way cool look to top off a FE.

BTW where is Gainesville? I'm working in Newnan Ga. Maybe we can get together and see what you have to work with if your close by? Let me know..
