    Where is everybody ? raining here

     



    I'm a pretty good FE hand ,but I broke the ear of a set of 428 CJ heads and want to ask whats the best to weld it up with????

    I've heard that you put the cast iron part in an oven at 500 degrees and let it soak there. Then you braze the broken piece (or crack). The idea is that since the cast iron is already hot it won't warp the head/block.

    I could be mistaken, so if I am someone please correct me.

    There is a cast iron stick - welding rod - for stick welders.

    Check with your welding supply
    shop on how to use it, there are some tricks.
