    sorry guys yet another question

ok my quest for heads for my 1965 352 galaxie has led me to Auto Zone. i went in and told them i was looking for a cheap pair of stock heads they found 2 options for me one was a pair od heads for a 1968-69 390 the cast number is C8AE-D2TE these heads were about $250 a peice these heads had the option of A.I.R. [air injector reactor] not sure what that is, but the above casting number is for the heads witout the A.I.R.

they also found a another head from 1965-1967 for a 390 the cast number is C5-C6-C7AE these cost $322 each

will either of these fit my '65 352? if so will they just bolt on and run? basically im looking for a cheap pair of heads just to get this thing going i dont really want performance just want it to run
    thanks for your time

Depending on what piston you have, which works with your ccombustion chamber to give a compression ratio, that might be a quick fix. Couldnt u just find some used heads if you are just wanting to temporarily get it going?

Call these guys and ask if they don't have a set of FE heads complete that you can pick up for cheap. '72-up will have hard seats and tough valves.

The C8 and D2 heads are the same. Just the D2's had hardened seats from the factory. Both C8 and D2 have 68-71 cc chambers. The C5, C6 and C7 71-74 cc chambers. The AIR or thermactor tubes are a smog related item and you don't need them. I'd ask if these heads have hardened seats installed besides the D2's which have them stock. Try the place Tech mentioned also. They might be able to hook you up possibly.

Tyler just keep in mind while shopping for heads the bolt pattern you need for your exaust mani's. 8, 14 and 16 bolt patterns were all standard on the FE. Just different applications. FYI.....

I have a complete 65 352 4 bbl motor out of my 65 custom 500 that ran good but smoked that I will sell for 75 dollars,it ran strong and could only be valve stem seals causing the smoke but I remembered the pair of loose heads have bolts broken off in them and a couple of the top bolts were drilled out and had nuts.
