Question newer heads with hardened seats

I have a 65 country squire with a 66 390 that was originally a 2bbl motor,I am planning on towing a small travel trailer with it. Is there any later truck heads that will slightly lower the compression and have hardened seats. To get this motor to stop pinging I had to run a lower temp thermostat and richen the carb and run premium fuel. Due to the up and down prices of gas,I would like to be able to run regular or mid range fuel in this motor if possible. Jeff

    Edelbrock Vara-Jection Water

I recently purchased a 1973 Ford pickup. The engine is pretty tight, but i have to run premium gas. I ran a compresion test and i get about 195 psi, on most cylinders. Would a Edelbrock Vara-Jection Water allow me to run normal old 87 octane fuel. I like the truck, its a F350 camper special, but premium gas is gonna suck my wallet dry. Hmmm i wonder if i can jam a diesel in there.

Would the Vara-Jection work on a 2000 mustang with a Vortech supercharger?
