    Question 77 460 4bbl cfm

Anyone know the actual cfm of a stock 1977 460 motorcraft (quadrojet type) 4Bbl ?
I believe they are all the same cfm.(Lincoln,T-Bird,Merc,etc) correct???

    Thanks

Do you have the part number from the tag that should be attached to one of the top cover screws? It also might be stamped on the air horn as well. Tough to give you actual cfm without those numbers, but it isn't much more then about 475 - 550 cfm based on several of that vintage vehicles that I've owned with a 460. These Autolite/Motorcraft carbs were NOT Ford's best ideas

Thanks again Dave. I have read in one of the hot rod mags some time ago that had the same question and pictured the carb (same as mine) with the silver dollar size rear Bbls.
Can`t remember the mag but they quoted 750 cfm,but like you say, check the tags.
Will do.I appreciate the time you took to reply....again Thanks
