460 will not idel at temp! Help!
I started the cobra up sunday with no problems and let it run in the driveway, when temp hit around 180 it started to get rough like a miss and it would shut off. I left the car off for about and hour while i ate dinner, went back out and started the engine with no problems, drove it for about 20 minutes, everything was perfect. I pulled it back in the driveway sat for a minute, temp hit 180 and it started to miss again , at least it sound like a miss to me. When it starts to miss it gets to 200 quick and then i shut it down with just the fan running.

My first thought is that some component of the ignition system is gettin' hot and layin' down on ya. It's fine with cool air circulating in the engine compartment, but with no air flow, it's heatin' up. Maybe?

Vapor lock. Pour cold water on the fuel pump and lines next time it does it.

actuall gas will vapor lock a a lot lower temp and there may be a spot where the lines get too hot, just for a question did you recently fill up and now have problems ?

Havent really drove it like that.last tank of gas i put in was ultra 94 3 weeks ago. I did have some fuel stabilizer in thare over the winter but that is well gone. I know that gas suppliers are adding mor ethonal to gas these days you think its turning to vapor sooner than straight gas. I have a mechanical fuel pump, think thats getting to hot?

has it done it before,if you open your hood does it improve or not, might be a dumb suggestion check you fuel filter 1st and go from there. is it a return or deadhead syst, fuel pressure guage ?
I fooled around one race day with a gallon of methanol trying to mix it with gas to lean it out as it runs rich, never thought you could vapor lock a open engine at night but it did I think it was doing it in the fuel pump, it doesnt quite work like ethanol

have you had the radiator checked out? is this a kit car or a fairlane?
Welcome to CHR. I think that you need to hook up your vacuum advance. At part throttle when cruising you have less air and fuel in each cylinder, and the air-fuel mixture is not as densely packed...
