New plug wires won't do a thing for restoring low compression. Could either be a problem of worn out rings, valve seals, or a combination of both. A plugged catalytic converter will have an adverse effect on performance and should be checked. The real problem is with the internals of the engine if the compression is low on one or more cylinders.....Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

a wet and dry compression check will tell you the condition of the motor. drop the conv. down and drive the truck will tell you if its stopped up.
