Ummmm, maybe the eccentric and cam bolt in the oil pan?
Don't turn the motor over any more until you get the front cover off and fix this. The cam gear is probably hangin' on by the skin of its teeth.

By the way, the cam bolt gets a good dose of Loctite after cleaning all the lube off it.
