Thanks for the input guys! I think I'm going to jerk the Mallory parts out and return to the old parts (they worked!).

Having read some posts in another forum on this site, the general opinion was that a performance ignition doesn't increase performance enough to consider, unless its a 'full race' application where 10ths of a second make a difference. I'm not in that catagory, so I'll go back to the basics. So much for my mechanical abilites....lol. Thanks again for your help C9x and Ed !!
