1950 Pontiac Straight 8. Stud Problem
I have a 1950 Straight 8 Engine and can't find where this stud goes on the block...its 7/16 course Thread with 1/8 pipe thread female end. 2 3/4 long and is hallow through. Here's a picture.
If anyone knows where it goes would be great. I've been searching for pictures and came up with nothing.

1/8 npt is usually a sender for oil pressure or an oil pressure switch (or a brake system part if it's not on the engine). Somewhere there is a component mounted with a 7/16 bolt that is into an oil galley...and it is NOT a head bolt since it isnt a grade 8.
Dont you have access to a shop manual that has a picture of the engine OR a picture of an installed engine? Should be able to look for a sender wire or tube.

time for a new forum to visit. when they sold sr.com it went down hill fast. no more forum just a cheap site selling junkie cars. the canadians killed hr.com. mods are real pricks. as with any site...
Where is everybody?
