Just put on the exhaust system, re-filled the tranny to make up for the fluid I lost with the driveshaft out, charged the battery, hooked up the clutch linkage and everything is ok. Electrical on the engine is partially done, gas line is hooked up...almost ready to start. However, my wife and I have a slight case of food poisoning and am a little under the weather. Have to wait until tomorrow to crank this "muther" up! Still have to do the radiator and finish all the little things. "On the Road again....." Yeeee...Hawww!"The biggest worry is that my wife (when I am dead) will sell my HotRod and parts for what I said I paid for it."

UPdate: Got everything together and tried to crank it. Battery is possibly trash now...didn't have time to check it out but it turned over very slowly and volt meter on dash before cranking showed only about 10 volts. Bad cell or something...will check it out next monday."The biggest worry is that my wife (when I am dead) will sell my HotRod and parts for what I said I paid for it."

About 20 years ago I suffered through one of those on a Friday evening The doc sent me home after diagnosis, but to return on Monday for more tests, etc. telling me to drink lots of fluids. I stopped at the local outlet on the way, bought a case of my favorite adult beverage and drank it. The stone passed during one of many trips to the pot, never had another.
Good luck - hope yours goes away as easily. They do hurtDave W

Got the front sheet metal back on this morning and gave the old gal a test drive. Everything worked fine...clutch seems to actuate properly and engine runs strong and smooth. Finally! Got to work Fri,Sat,Sun and then off to Costa Rica for a week of relaxation. Next Jan or maybe Feb at the latest, I'll pull the heads and intake and put the goodies on...then we'll really have some fun! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year everyone!

Just got in from Costa Rica....great time, but glad to get home to the truck. I will send a couple of pix tomorrow when I get time. Caught a cold from my wife, who got one 4 days ago. Oh boy, what fun! Can't wait to really put some miles on the new 4-speed and see how it feels. Like I said, probably Feb for the supercharger install. Everything is here, just need to place things where they need to be and hook 'em up! I will use the Holley 390 cfm for the install, as I know it works right. However, it is not modified to be used with the supercharger. The power valve will be all messed up, but from what I have read, it's not a real big deal. Later, I will put the 600 Holley on, and then finally, the 3 x 2's. That WILL require the hole in the hood, but with the new scoop, it will really be nice. It's kind of "over the top" with the scoop, but what the heck, it sure will attract attention driving down the road and at the old car show here in Davenport every 2nd Saturday....and it'll make me feel good. That's what it's all about, right?
Also have a vacuum gauge and a A/F gauge to install. Hooked up the A/F sensor when I made the exhaust system.

You make me jealous with your trip to Costa Rica - my favorite Latin American country, that is but the scary airport(unless there is a new one now).
Looking forward to seeing the blower on that flattie.Dave W

Mountain.JPGBestWesternCourtyard.jpgLunchontheBeach.jpgMarriottBoatBasin.jpgArrivalCR.JPGDrove the truck yesterday with my cousin on board. Ran like a champ! Attached are some pictures of the trip to Costa Rica. The Best Western Irazu is in San Jose (capitol city) and we went to a couple of volcano tours and coffee plantation visits. Weather was cold in the mountains and mild at the beach. We had lunch with our driver in Jaco on the pacific side. San Jose has 2 million plus residents and they must have all been downtown the day we walked the closed off streets. Elbow to elbow.... but this is definitely a boobies and booties country!Sorry if these pix are too big...I don't know how to downsize them. Maybe someone can do this for me. Thanks!

I'm just about over my cold....and now it gets cold here! Supposed to be 28* tonight. Too cold today to work on the truck very much. I know you guys up North are used to this, but us old Southern boys have thin bloodTruck drives great and the engine and tranny are really matched very well. Just a little feathering of the clutch to get going and then...hold on....those gears are really nice!
