So I've gotten a lot of things done to my car since you all gave me advice in my previous thread . I've dropped the gas tank & got it serviced, replaced the fuel lines for new ones, I've purchased a new fuel pump (still waiting for it to show up), I've drained all the fluids and replaced them (tranny oil, engine oil, and coolant), I've rebuilt the carb, I've gotten the radiator serviced and installed new thermostats & hoses, and I've installed new spark plugs. I'm trying to finish the last few things before I fire her up but I'm running into a few problems . I've been purchasing parts to finish my 12v conversion and here's where I ran into a road block! So I purchased a powergen alternator to retain the stock generator appearance and monting location, but the powergen runs a 3/8" belt. The belt that I took off of my motor was a 1/2" belt. Does anyone know where I can get 3/8" pulleys for the crank and both water pumps??? I've also been considering upgrading my water pumps to the ones offered by speedway, but I also noticed that the stock water pumps have the engine supports on them wich I don't believe that the speedway pumps have. Any advice on what to do about fixing that problem??? Also the last question that I had: Durring the process of me chaging all of the fluids in the car, I put some oil in the spark plug holes and then turned the crank bolt to cycle the oil through the sysem. While i was turning the crank bolt, I noticed that oil was splurting back out of a few of the spark plug holes . I didn't messure how much oil I put in each hole so I figured that this was just excess oil that I had put into those holes. Anyone know if this is normal??? Here are some before and after pix of my motor.
