If I run the water pumps like the ones from speedway that have no adaptors, would I have to get a motor mount kit to support the front of the engine up???

Not sure what Speedway sells, but all flatties mount on the pumps. '49-up cars use an angled two-bolt mount that's different to the others and require a bent flatiron adapter to be made so they fit your frame mounts.
