Definitely worth going to, as is the attached Greenfield Village . The only bad part is that to look at everything it takes just about all day for each. If you just take in the transportation part of the museum, you'll be about 3 to 4 hours. The museum also has an IMAX theater (NASCAR 3D is one of 4 movies showing). Opps, just noticed the village is closed for the winter. It used to be open year round.

Another place to consider is the Walter P. Chrysler Museum in Auburn Hills (a straight shot up I-75) about 40 minutes north of Cobo. It also takes about 3-4 hours to see everything.

Both places are excellent. If you miss one, it's worth going to if you return for the Dream Cruise in August.

If the wife wants to go shopping, there is the Somerset Collection in Troy (Big Beaver exit, about a mile west of I-75).

There are all kinds of resturants in the city and the surrounding suburbs. Check out the Detroit City Guide which can help you locate some good food and other things to do at night. Enjoy the area and have fun.
