Isn't it something when you look at the Picture of the Quadrajet that Denny W posted. General Motors had already put the area for the Mixture Control Solenoid in quite a few years before they went to Computer Command Control.

here we go again. i vote with denny. iscoresports most sbc come from the factory with vac. at the dist. at idle. some people dont think thats the way it should be so they run ported vac., so youll get 2 dif. answers on this ?. me and denny always run manifold vac. most of the time. ive all ways run vac. there because thats how GM taught me. try it both ways and see which way you like it. it wont heart anything. use the same base time.

i know, i ran 2 predators on my drag car and loved them. didnt have to worry about burning holes in pistons. at the time i dont think they had a st. carb. might have and i didnt know it. everybody told me i was crazy as hell to run them. also ran one on my 406 modf. round track car , untill they out lawed it. they wrote a rule in the rule book just for me that said NO MORE PREDATORS after this yr. i put the hurt on them hollys. i like the predators but most people wouldnt try them because they didnt understand them.

Just in the interest of seeing both sides . . .

It may just be because my crate motor is a relatively new smallblock (Chevy Fastburn 385), but there are specific instructions to use ported vacuum to the distributor.

I ran my '68 GTO the same way, though.

Best advice is still try 'em both, and see which one works best.

A Predator remindes me of a Borg cube. If I run one, will I be assimilated? Is resistance futile?
