I had the same problem with my engine not too long ago and it was driving me friggin' nuts. Fortunately, another guy was having the same problem as me in a different forum and suggested that I turn my idle down. I was idling at 800 rpms when it was dieseling, then I turned it down to 500 rpms and BY GOD the dieseling went away! I hope this helps some.1979 Chevy Scottsdale K20 4X4 P/U w/4" lift, 454 w/4BBL Edelbrock 750 cfm carb, Turbo 400 tranny, Magna-Flow Exhaust
