Haha that sucks for him... Did he try to get more power out of it trying to make the tranny a turbo and thought that putting a turbo charger inside would make it a turbo? haha, just messing but what are you going to do with the exhaust now?

Noise would be a Bit**..I have a Corvette with side exhaust and thos exit right behind my doors....cross country trips had me dizzy...also, I personally think the cold air sucked in a hot engine direct from the open exhaust, when ya shut it off could harm the engine.......hot parts and cold air don't mix well

if the o2 sensors arent plugged in and that is the culprit , then the check engine light should have set a code.

It should have O2 sensors at the manifolds and just behind the cat's, the worst thing that can happin with no exhaust, your running hard one day she getts a little hotter than normal, you shut her off and COLD air gets pulled into the exhaust, bends the valves, you tag a piston or two, total engine distruction. Or your drivin around one day while its raining, you park the car shut her off and suck water from the puddle you just splashed in sucked up into yer exhaust, I have seen both happen.
