    HEI distributor Q's

Is it possible to remove the vacume advance from a HEI distributor and change it to a mechanical advance?

What are the pros and cons of eash type of advance

The vacuum advancer is setup more for economy street use and properly dialed in should be great for the strip too. I think mechanical is more consistent which is what you may be looking for on the dragstrip (unless you have hills and other inconsistencies on the dragstrip).

I have no idea about conversion to and fro, however.
